Oh dear.. your FIRST most important concern on this is can you get the injectors out of the head? if not yur in big trouble.. dealers have scrapped many of these due to seized injectors. the injectors need to come out for the inlet manifold to come off to get at the head bolts...

id worry about that first before the belt..

as a side.. the belt is not that hard to do depending how good your knowledge is.. despite it being twin cam the belt only drives the rear cam with a link chain to the front cam..

there will be timing holes for the timing pins to slide through the cam sprocket and another hole i think behind the starter for the crack locking.. the engine fuel pumps are NOT timed so no need to worry about that one..

Firstly thank you for replying , before the head comes off im going to check the water pump impeller , the issue is my expansion tank is leaking coolant out ive changed the cap but still the same , ive bleed the coolant system to get all the air but still there seems to be massive pressure in the expansion tank, my thinking is head-gasket leak , even when i take the cap off 2 days later without the car being used there is still pressure in the expansion tank,

Thanks

Yes, but theres NO point starting anything if the injectors wont come out.

Gasket failiures are not unknown on the 2.2 engines... Getting the heads off IS another issue and a serious one..

you dont need them out to do the cambelt only for head removal

No of course not but if your suspecting head gasket failure which if you have big pressure issues is likely then they will need to come out...

thanks mate , so its worth me checking out the waterpump first as my mate told me hes a qualified mechanic and has seen pressure in the expansion tank before on 2.2 hdi and found the problem to be the waterpump impeller, but my thoughts are headgasket.. maybe his garage might have the only thing that will remove them .. a hydroilc injector removal tool
