My 1998 S2 Xantia estate hates Fridays if its going to go wrong it always does it on a BL**dy Friday afternoon.

I try very hard not to drive on Friday the 13th as it has become a favourite day for little electrical problems on the xantia.

it is alaways jealous of the 2cv being parked on the driveway and it seems to know when I have saved up to buy something

it clearly wants the money spent on it and nothing else.

it often locks the boot door not allowing me into the boot in a temper tantrum to my giving attention to the 2cv.

Regards Nigel.

My parents have ran citroens since way before I was ever thought of and they have never had an unreliable car. Neither have I. Yes you get ones which have not been looked after as well but in terms letting us down, they never have.

I don't believe citroens are any worse or better than any other car. Look around and you will find every make has their own problem cars and specific issues.

Some of the least demanding cars we have owned:
1996 XM 2.0 16v auto - owned for 6 years without a fault
2005 c5 2.0hdi 138 - has only ever needed servicing , tyres and brakes in our 50k miles

There are too many to list really. I always say find a good on and look after it, it should be a good car. Do your homework firs though, don't go out and buy a 1.6 HDi which has had infrequent service and then moan when the turbo fails. Buy the most proven and reliable of the species.

Worst - Zsara HDi.

Best - any of the three Dyanes we've had or my GSA.

Im well happy with my basic xantia 95 td. Ive had it since may bought it for 290 pound. Drive 40 miles a day in it. Never missed a beat. Always starts up. The only time it nearly didnt start. Was when i left both interia door lights on for about 8 hours.
The mot is this month. But the horns stopped working. And the breaks are really low.
