Saab were one of the other makers to use six digit odometers from a relatively early point. Can't remember if the 99 had six digits or not, 900 did from day one though.
It's almost invariably rust that kills them unfortunately.

Re: Who has the highest mileage?
Had 176k miles on the Saxo VTR before I scrapped her. 50k of that was delivering pizzas, it had a 1.1 gearbox and got driven to death every day. Best fun I ever had but boy it had issues in the end. Gearbox finally shat itself one day and i'd had enough. It did get by on bare minimum maintainence and was a dog when I bought it anyway!
The 206 only made it to 136k before we chopped her in, the rear beam had finally had it about 3 months prior and the brakes didn't work properly. Engine still ran like a trooper though even if it wasn't timed right (was definately running advanced) and never let us down.
Had a fiesta that died at 65k. That was an expensive mistake.
The Xantias just gone over 70k, did 6k last year with some trips around the country. Hopefully should stay reasonably low but I have every bit of faith it will last for years!

Re: Who has the highest mileage?
That's just an average, our work S60 isn't going to make 115kk at 7years old. It would've gone on a long time eating up motorways but it just can't handle the lanes and backroads up here.Stickyfinger wrote:Sadly yes, shame really as I had hoped for a lot lessCitroJim wrote:

Think droplinks rattling from every direction and you have a good idea what it's like. Really good engine and box though, if I thought it would fit I'd try to shove it in red when the volvo finally utters its last rattle.
My current cars aren't to high on mileage. Reds on about 116k and greens near 150k but I can't remember exactly.
