Just a quick question, what will you get for your £200, how old will it be and how long will it last?
And if it lasts more than 3 months how much will you have to pay to keep it on the road more than a year?

if the answer to any of the above questions is more than a couple of hundred why not get the C5 fixed as even if you spend £1k it'll be worth more than £200 and probably be newer and better than the £200 banger?

Just a spanner in the idea! :)

I almost agree with mark.

If you can, find a good engine (there must be a lot around) and have someone cheap drop it in for you. It's not an ancient car so is worth it. Shame it's not a diesel really as they are worth more and it would be more worthwhile to repair.

Good luck with it, whatever you decide for it.
