C5 2.2 hdi won't communicate with flash

Hi there guys,
I have recently bought a re flash tool and installed it on my laptop so that I could hopefully flash a remapped file to my ecu so as to remove dpf and associated s**t.
Doesn't want to find ecu whatever I do.
The device is a kwp2000plus from eBay.
I have also tried my obd code reader on it and that will not connect either, the only thing that talks to it is our proper full on diagnostic machine(Autodiagnos) that we have in the garage I work for.
