Yes, you need a Lexia to tell the car you have changed the radio, it then simply "Joins" the two together and codes it in...

A rather simple operation for the Lexia..

But thats the only way.. Its instead of entering a Physical code, like the radios of yesteryear..

If your C5 is like mine "replacement parts" section of lexia returns "function not available on this model"

You just go into the radio section on the bsi select the type of radio fitted and interrogate it with the lexia, the radio will turn on. It will be beeping whilst playing to tell you it is not coded, you will see the vin number at the very top of the list of information it returns. This will be the vin number of the car it came out of, mouse onto the vin number and click each number or letter that needs changing once you have highlighted a number or letter you can change it by using the plus or minus feature at the bottom of the page. Just change it to the vin number of your car and click configure at the bottom of the page on the left that annoying beeping will stop.
Just done mine yesterday.

Don't worry I am new at it too, only got mine last week hopefully I haven't done any irreparable damage with it yet  If you come across any thing in it that relates to getting an auto box to change up higher than 2nd gear let me know PMSL.

That I can't help you with I'm afraid, I wouldn't have an autobox under any circumstances
