I find the water freezes either on the journey or sometimes as I'm going round the car, I then can't open the windows and sometimes the doors are frozen again.

Xantidote wrote:Yes, mine too. Only the length of seal which lies horizontally on the hatch/tailgate seems to affected. Started 1-2 winters ago, and yes, it disappears again when weather gets warmer. Maybe the rubber is degrading with long term exposure to sunlight/UV?
And my tailgate rubber too - this tailgate came complete from a scrapper of the same age. The rubber is very perished and I wish now that I'd saved the original smashed tailgate and spent whatever time was necessary to remove the rubber and glass intact from it. It's not a matter of cosmetics but the fact that water accumulates under it and then when the tail gate is lifted, dribbles out inside the boot. :(

Just ordered some myself. While I expect it will help stop the doors freezing shut it will be interesting to see whether it can do anything for the perished rubber on the boot window or whether that is too far gone already...

Now the conditions are getting slippery underfoot (as well as undertyre), I plan on getting my "Magic Spikers" out. They are, in effect, snow chains for your feet. I got my mother some last year, and she felt they saved her on a least one occasion from slipping into the canal!

Got my gummi yesterday and applied to door seals (new c5 has double seals!). Now we wait for cold weather.
I ordered two bottles. Not sure I needed two, suppose it depends how long it lasts.
Give it a god squeeze and dab it up and down to make it come out into sponge.
