c5 winter project outside temp sensor

I have bought a C5 2.2 Auto estate as a project for the winter as my wife is struggling with the hand brake on hill starts on her manual one due to arthritis in her hands so hoping to refurb it over the next couple of months as this is my slack time of year for work.

It has numerous faults showing on the lexia in fact it is probably easier to list the few that have a No rather than list the actual faults lol.

Most are more serious than this but does anyone know if a dead outside temp sensor effects the heated door mirror operation it says the sensor is dead (Short to positive) and there is no reading on screen. It also shows A/C temperature reading fault which I know comes from that sensor but it also shows both wing mirror heating units as not functioning.
