2010 C5 Auto 2.0 HDi

When driving up a hill at 25mph or so have noticed a sort of vibration. Car is in D3.
This evening the car was in D2 and up a slight hill the car kangarooed like a manual does when you let the clutch out too fast.
Also today, at 30mph on the flat the car was in D5, which is surely too high for 30, since usually on a flat its maybe in fourth and changes down at the slightest hill.
Each time the accelerator was gently pressed as i was in traffic.
Is this just what happens sometimes or is it something more?

hmmmm i haveno experiance in french autos but from my experiance in old ford autos and common sence id say that your box is changing to to higher gear before its ready, 25 mph in 3 sounds to slow for 3rd to me, as does 30 in 5th,

whats your auto box fluid like as i learnt on the old ford stuff that 99% of the time problems are down to the atf (auto transmsion fluid) (or whatever french boxes use) if it is atf is it still cherry red, and does it smell burned at all?? and most importantly have you got enough fluid in the box

Its off to a Main Dealers tomorrow, sounds like I should mention the issues. Just wanted to make sure its not what is normal for an auto.

I think the 25mph in 3rd is ok looking at rev counter, but in 5th i can feel the engine labouring.

Try disconecting the battery for 5 mins then take it out for a 30 min drive using town and motorway. these boxes have a adaptive drive cycle in the ecu and itl probally need to relearn your driving habits

They found no fault but there is a software update for it they will apply when I take it back.
The Judder happens on the same bit of road, maybe it's an uneven one or something?

Which auto box is it and what mileage ? The shudder/vibration when trying to pull at low revs, and the gearbox sometimes labouring the engine at low rpm in a high gear sounds awfully similar to what the 4HP20 in my Xantia V6 has been doing...

Might be that it could do with a change of gearbox oil but without knowing which gearbox it is and what mileage it's done its hard to say. Don't believe Citroens "sealed for life" recommendations...
