Having tried many things now I stumbled upon this which seems strange

Hold down the green telephone button down and after several seconds a message comes up on the screen saying "CHEAT CODE" and is waiting for a number.
WHAT is this???
I'd be wary of entering anything yet. See the warning on the cheat site I found.

I don't suppose a BSI reset would help, but it might be an idea to try it as it's unlikely to do any harm.

Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.
Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.
Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.
Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).
Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.
Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.
Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.
Remove key open & close door test central locking system.
Start the engine and complete the system's check.

Thanks for the reply, yeah I had found some info with a text file showing the above list. Nothing in there that I think would be relevant, and I think best left alone

I know what you mean about hating things that should work but don't, so expect you will keep at it.

It might be worth a look or posting a question on the gpsunderground forum. Under the manufacturer specific heading there is a very active Peugeot citroen forum with lots about myway and navdrive. As the name suggests it's mainly about satnav but you do see some posts about the phone bit of the system.

Some of the solutions are highly unofficial, but I might get a firmware update for myway from there. Depends how much the dealer wants to do it when I go in for service on Tuesday.

Not well. They were happy to do,it and even had a Citroen tech in that day. Sadly they couldn't connect to the service website to get the firmware. They said they would call which they duly did, and apparently they have a slow broadband which makes it a bit hit or miss. I do know the problem, the villages around here do not have good broadband and we won't get FTTC until 2015. Not sure of that was the real problem but take them at their word.

I think I will go the SD card unofficial route as others on here say it works OK. Scary though.

As the car was over 3 years old the service and new front pads were quite reasonable, I doubt my indie would have been much less and this way there is some goodwill if I have a major post warranty problem.

Nothing to add really, except that I got a new 3G Sony Experia recently with a micro sim. I shoved it and its adaptor into the C5 phone slot and it worked no problem. Picked up the new contacts etc. and no problems sending or receiving calls.
