Excellent work Jaf =D> Yes, that's it, all that's happened is the throttle spring assembly has not dropped properly into the slot in the plate...

Just a quick disassembly and all will be well...

Thanks Jim. Couldn't have done it without you! Can't work on it until Sunday unfortunately.

i think the electricary inside the armor is the immobilisers, i did away with this on my 1.9 TD and picked up a switched live for the shut off solenoid from one of the plug connectors on the pump bracket,

Got the pump apart again. Throttle shaft assembly bent where it clips to the spring. Will try bosch people tomorrow, otherwise will have to order one online. Can only find dieselknotor.de online, know of someone else?

Had printed off instructions and everything, next time make sure they're read properly. Am glad no more damage has occured.

Gave up after talking to bosch, they wanted 150euro for the throttle spindle. Bought a second hand pump which took all day from leaving at 8.30am to getting home at 7.30pm. Went to 4 different sprap yards. Had to go away whilst they had a siesta half way through taking the pump off!

So next problem...key light flashes and bleeps, same thing with spare key. Assuming that I need to do a key sync? There's no immobiliser or alarm on the car. Suppose a Lexia is needed to do that?

Arrrgggh!

Just been searching and it seems I'll have to take the second hand pump off, remove the armour and swap the electrics over. Going to be quite the expert at taking pumps off.

Unfortunately, yes Jaf :( The immobiliser is matched to the CPH and I'm not even sure a 'foreigner' can even be reprogrammed with a Lexia..

Sorry :(

Sounds like you did'nt get it in the right position !!.
did this job some time ago and when putting it back together had the same issue.
Cant remember exactly what i did wrong but when you take the top back off it has to be put back the right way round !!!!.
Dont shout at me yet for stating the obvious, the linkage was pushing instead of pulling or visa versa. And when i got it right it did'nt look right when i put it together but worked as it should.

Might be able to help with some bosch parts if it is the same pump I butchered for parts, which I might add was generously donated by JIM :-D .
put up a photo of the part needed and I'll have a look to see if it is with the remainder of the pump.

Wheeee! Fred's going again! It's been a long time as not been able to work on her everyday. Actually apart from getting the armour off the hardest part for me was getting the 10mm nut back on the timing belt cover, not a lot of room in there.

Thanks again Jim, wouldn't have got there without you and the guys on here.

wotwot, thanks for your offer, I'll try and put a pic up. It's one of the throttle spindle prongs that's bent and cracked.

MOT (ITV) booked for Monday. Fingers crossed!
