Madness
After owning five citroens that have failed in the first 3 months, some unfixable, I have seen the light and bought.....
A 2010 C5 tourer.
Family still talking to me.
Friends don't know yet buy will probably shake heads in disbelief.
It's an exclusive 160 hdi auto.
No sat nav or gap sensor. But I don't mind.
Leather interior. Massage seat! I like that.
51.3 mpg overall from Chepstow to Cockermouth (was 53.3 till I hit shap)
So that's better than the 1.6 hdi vtr manual I traded in.
So happy.

I love that opening boot lid. Shame you have to run out into the rain to shut it after showing off.
It does have to go to a dealer as one if the rear seats sounds like a wobble board when sat in. If you look at the seat back from the boot as someone sits in it you can see it move.
I didn't notice the rear view mirror changing itself at night. I couldn't find any buttons in the dark to change it and it doesn't show any lights so maybe that needs looked at.

Not sure that will work, I've always talked into the remote and said lock or unlock. No one was fooled.

Re: Madness
The button to turn it on/off is on the underside of the mirror, when turned on there should be a small LED glowing green, the change from turning it on/off is gradual plus with the Exclusive the window tinting is rather dark anyway so the change isn't exactly dramatic.mooseshaver wrote:I didn't notice the rear view mirror changing itself at night. I've just fitted the Citroen accessory protective sill covers to mine, I know I'm a tart but they do look rather nice in their polished aluminium finish

I can't find a button. All smooth apart from a hole in middle. The manual does not mention turning it off or on.DickieG wrote:The button to turn it on/off is on the underside of the mirror, when turned on there should be a small LED glowing green, the change from turning it on/off is gradual plus with the Exclusive the window tinting is rather dark anyway so the change isn't exactly dramatic.mooseshaver wrote:I didn't notice the rear view mirror changing itself at night. What do your sill covers protect? Are they like the plastic covers on old c5s?
I like the way the suspension drops deliberately when you take the key out of ignition.

Page 57 in my handbook, sounds like you need to press on the 'hole' on the underside of the mirror, the switch isn't a close contact so to speak, it does move a fair bit between on and off.mooseshaver wrote:I can't find a button. The hole is on the back. I don't think it has a switch. I can't see any switch in the daylight.

Re: Madness
Sounds like a nice car. Lucky me, I have sat nav to go with the leather and massage. No Zenons with washers as far as I can make out though.
That sounds like decent mileage you got on your trip. I got 40 MPG York to Aberdeen, but mines a thirsty 2.2 litre.
I've tried everywhere for a set of sill guards for the Mk III but can only see ones for earlier cars. Is there a supplier and are they expensive?
The auto dimming rear view button will be nearly flush with the surface of the mirror holder when is it activated and the soft green light to the left is on so it might be difficult to see.
Not sure if these were an option, even on the Exclusive but if it's manual it will have the usual toggle lever at the bottom. Mine certainly works fine and you can see the change to dark when a car comes up close, then changing back to light again as it passes.
Love the electric brake with hill start too.

No buttons on mirror. Page 57 in the manual is just about a the remote heater.
The page with the mirror on make no mention of turning it off or on. So maybe it is just on and it doesn't so obviously change like the older ones do?

No manual toggle switch?
My Rover 75 had no buttons either, it just worked!
Should have mentioned on the front of the mirror casing is the word "auto" between the two lights. You will find loads of stuff by accident no doubt. Daytime running lights, memory seat movement for easy access, lumbar height adjustment, etc. I'm thinking about turning off the bendy lights/angle lights, as I keep thinking there's a blooming motorbike trying to undertake!
