C5 suspension Pump - C5 Gurus.......!

Post by citroenxm »

Hi all..

Had a question tonight regarding C5 suspenson pump... The first Q is are ALL S1 and S1.5 (revised C4 headlight models with 1.6 HDi engines) all use the SAME suspension pumps?? Or are they specific? I and the questioner realise the Lexia is needed to install it, but we want to be sure we get the right one for the car.

Also theres a fault the "System cannot delivery the Elyos fluid" and theres also a "steering angle sensor deviation permanent". fault.. Are these easy to rectify or not?

Cheers

Re the pump - doesn't look like it :(

MK 1:
5277 41
HYDRAULIC UNIT
- VARIABLE POWER STEERING AND AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT AND PART TO BE CONFIGURED
5277 42
- VARIABLE POWER STEERING AND AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT AND CONFIGURED PART AND VEHICLE IDENT NO (VIN) TO BE SPECIFIED ON ORDER
5277 43
UNVARIABLE POWER STEERING AND AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT AND PART TO BE CONFIGURED
5277 44
- UNVARIABLE POWER STEERING AND AUTOMATIC HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT AND CONFIGURED PART AND VEHICLE IDENT NO (VIN) TO BE SPECIFIED ON ORDER
5277 45
- UNVARIABLE POWER STEERING AND WITHOUT HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT AND PART TO BE CONFIGURED
5277 46
- UNVARIABLE POWER STEERING AND WITHOUT HEADLAMP ADJUSTMENT AND CONFIGURED PART AND VEHICLE IDENT NO (VIN) TO BE SPECIFIED ON ORDER

For MK 2 cars, there looks to be 4 types for each engine / body configuration, and there were changes at various RP numbers..... If you can get the VIN off the patient, then might be able to look up and see if the same pump is fitted to other models!

Don't know about the Eolys - is there any in the tank? Steering angle sensor fault is routine on Hydractive Xantias - maybe the same on C5s?

Hi Richard.. and anyone else who can help,

Vin Number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] and I think the RP is.. 10259CJ
.

On the thought of it, the car is stuck in bottom setting, is this something a quick lexia session can sort, or is there something more serious going on? Apparently the Feed Fues are ok..

Cheers

Part No 5277C1 appears to be common with 1.6 HDi 110 Estate with and without FAP, 2.0 HDi saloon / estate, EW10A (2.0i ?) / ES9 (V6?) / EW7 (1.8i?) Estate.

Never played with one so no idea if you can wake it up with a Lexia - I suspect if it's on the floor, and won't respond to the button when not in economy mode, and fuses are OK (assume maxi fuses are OK?) then you know what you must do....

A new one from Citroen is a smidge under £810

Strange case of synchronicity...

I'm doing exact same thing - C5 replaced suspension pump, god I hope I've got the right one or it doesn't matter...

MY Question
LEXIA
I've got the new(old) pump in, I've got the Lexia, I've got the thing up and running and producing what seems like meaningful information from my (not)auto(not)mobile, BUT
I assumed that the right place to "initialise" a replacement pump would be by following the lead from the "Replacement parts" menu entry, but that led to a "Function not supported for this vehicle" response...
The pointer I was give was to follow the "Global test" menu entry to suspension and then enter some configuration information...

Can anyone who's done this give a brief step through - and... Just what configuration information should be entered...

Oh, one final minor point... The new pump has an extra return pipe exiting from the back of the pump (just above and just driver's side of the rear high pressure out). I figured I'd add this to the small rear passenger side of the reservoir return, but have noticed from some diagrams online that it seems to disappear below the main reservoir body. Can anyone enlighten me as to where the proper place this return should go (no replies regarding my personal plumbing please!).

Many thanks.
Morgan.

Good point about the maxi fuses, the BHI main fuse is hidden beneath the under bonnet fusebox, you need to partially remove it to see & check them.
If you get a 2nd hand one off a similar spec car there should be no need to program anything. If i remember right there are only 3 options to program in the BHI. Tyre size, whether it has Xenons or not & whether it has variable power steering (which i believe is only the V6 models).
As for the extra return pipe, if you buy a new one from Citroen there was a superceded part & it comes with a blanking off kit.

Tell me, Part Numbers... an estate pump pt.no is 5277 with four options, C1 C2 C3 and C4... and a saloon is the same but A1, A2 A3 and A4.. the A2 and A4, and C2 and C4 pumps are already NFP!

Does anyone know what the suffex number letters mean? Would a saloon pump suit an estate?

cheers

Part Nos...

5277 C1 01 HYDRAULIC UNIT - NORMAL SUSPENSION AND PART TO BE CONFIGURED
5277 C2 NFP 01 - NORMAL SUSPENSION AND CONFIGURED PART AND VEHICLE IDENT NO (VIN) TO BE SPECIFIED ON ORDER
5277 C3 01 - FR/RR HEAVY DUTY SUSPENSION AND PART TO BE CONFIGURED
5277 C4 NFP 01 - FR/RR HEAVY DUTY SUSPENSION AND CONFIGURED PART AND VEHICLE IDENT NO (VIN) TO BE SPECIFIED ON ORDER

So you can't get a pre-configured part anymore (if you ever could!). No idea what the difference betwen normal and heavy duty susp is! I suspect the estate pump is a bit more heavy duty than the saloon to account for heavier loads and more up/down (doesn't the estate have a switch in the boot area?). No idea if one will physically fit the other :?

Hi Right some info from citroen dealer according to them 2004 - 2008 mk2 C5's his system only lists 2 types for manual box 5277C1 and one other he didnt give me the number for which is heavy duty ( he reckon's that he doubts there are any heavy duty ones in uk??) And one other for automatic 5277E3 he checked my VIN as above in posts (citroenxm) and then checked against C5's mk2 without the VIN.
Only shame is that this number isnt printed on any of the Pumps.
