On the 2004- 2008 models, I understand that both 4 and 6 speed autos were available.
The 'old' 2.2-litre 136HDi had a 4 speed
The 2.0-litre petrol had a 4-speed.
All the others, including the V6 had the AW6 6-speed.
So, the 4-speeds, were they AL4s or ZF 4HP20?
Also, is the 6-speed more reliable and a better bet?

My local independent has an ex citroen service guy working there. He said the 4 speed auto boxes are not that great (to put it politely) and need an oil change everytime you do an engine oil change really, and the 6 speed autobox is the decent one.
