timing belt renewal
Hi all, ive just had my timing belt and kit plus water pump and alternator belt replaced on my c5 hdi the dealer charged me £340 all in is that a reasonable price for the work done. cheers Stan

The parts are over £150 - £50 / h gives only 4 hours labour which is pretty tight for the job, including coolant change, so £340 sounds a reasonable price.

Sounds about right. I had mine done at an independent for £150, however i supplied the parts and i did the coolant refill. As long as your happy with the work, i.e to a good standard and the garage havn't damaged anything else in the process then that sounds pretty fair for a stealer

My local Pug dealer has an offer on for £295 but that's for the belt only. To have the pump and pulleys included, you did well.guzgog wrote: the dealer charged me £340 all in
