C5 2.0 Hdi engine issues

I'm on a steep learning curve at the moment, my first two Hdi engines have been faultless but my latest one has a couple of quirks. It starts up from cold instantly but hunts like an old Leyland bus for about 30 seconds and then runs fine, I wasn't bothered about it so didn't take any action, but two or three times lately it has been difficult to start when hot, only occaisionally, its probably good for 20 or 30 starts before it throws a wobbly it then needs two or three attempts to start it. I don't know if the two faults are connected - but I hope someone does.

I don't know if it is the same with the hdi engine but my 4 X 4 had the same problem and it was a leak on the air intake manifold according to the garage been fine ever since just a possible.
