C3 Blower Machine Gun

Post by spigven »

Hello,

The blower on the C3 (2003 1.4 SX petrol) has been noisy for a good while on the higher settings, hard to describe but like a rhythmic thrumping noise. This morning it got worse, now it sounds like a tappety old Talbot Horizon (or a machine gun) even on the lower settings. Looking in the BOL doesn't appear much of a job to take a look but car is constantly in use and it will be next sunday before I can take a look. Does anyone know if the unit is serviceable in any way or if by any chance its the same as a xantia (as I have a spare).

Thanks

Mark

i would think the impelar has split/broken,

looking on service citroen you have to remove the glove box to gain access to the motor,
and it is different to the XANT

On my C5 the flap in one of the dash vents does that if it's in a particular place, the air passing through makes it flutter and it sounds as you say like a machine gun.
