Kenny

I generally use Holts Exhaust Assembly paste - what are you using, and where it is leaking? The flange type ones normally seal dry, and the one on the back of the engine should have a 'brillo pad' type seal in it.

The bosal stuff that goes in the mastic gun is the pups nuts, it will actualy glue the joint together as well as seal it, there is no better stuff out there imo.

Is that in case the paste does not do the job and your frustration with a leaky exhaust just becomes too much to bear?

Of course a proper exhaust properly fitted never needs paste. :)
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Thanks for all the replies,

Bosal it is then.

I used a tube of paste I had in my garage can't remember the name.

Richard, It is the flange joint after the Cat which is vibrating, loosing off and causing a rattle. It's pain in the !!!!
I'll see if I can use my friends ramp at his garage it will make life easier.

I never had a problem in the past with any exhaust I've fitted including the Xantia TD.

have you got the correct clamp on as it should be a stainless steel one piece band type flange clamp both ends of the CAT

here is BOSAL's online cataloug

Malcolm ,

Yes, I believe so as it fits the pipe diameter.

The exhaust came with all the clamps as part of the package and matched the old ones I removed.
