barking up the wrong tree or just barking

Post by citronut »

i have just replaced the cam belt, water pump, crank seal and cam cover seal on my daughters singerneeeeee,

the cam belt area was caked up with oily fibrous greasy gooooooo, so i thought it was time to do something about it,

on re/assembling it to the key turning ceremony the little devil would not start or even attempt to,

first thing that came to mind was maybe were i had disconnected electricary to enable the loom to be moved out of the way, it had lost its key pad code,

the key pad was not connected when we got the wagon so previous owner/s had obviously started it up then unplugged the key pad,
hence my thoughts of it loosing the code,

spent about an hour and a half looking into getting the key pad to function   , also there was one of the wires to the pad plug was dangling about doing nout, and three slots it could have come from,

even pluged the DIS-LEXIA in but it had no dialog with the imobaliser ECU,

then in a blinding flash i thought to try pressing the impact shut off relay,
bongo she fired up,

i had had this unplugged along with another lecy box
