Advice needed about hydraulic suspension Pleassseee

Post by mduffy »

Hi guys,

I own a C5 (2001 Model) which i dropped to my mechanics Garage (also a friend) to replace accelerator cable...
He put the car up on the lift, but when he went to take it off the car was dropped right down and wouldn't lift up when started..
The hydraulic pump doesn't make any noise..
We checked the following so far;
.brake switch
.fuses
.brake lights
.hydraulic fluid level .. as we know these sometimes cause the problem!!!

Does anyone have any other solutions we could look at?? :) :) :)

Have you checked the Maxi fuses that live under the normal fuse box in the engine bay?
Have you tested the fuses or just looked at them? Sometimes they can have an hairline break that is invisible but effectively stops any current flowing.
Was the battery disconnected at any time?
Has the body been jacked up without the suspension being raised to full height before jacking?

He told me theres power going to the pump...
I don't thing he adjusted the suspension when putting it on the ramp (his ramp has 4 arms that swing under car and act as jacks)
We did disconnect battery after the problem to see if it help.

As the battery was disconnected, try running through this rather tiresome procedure and see if it will reboot the hydraulic system.
Failing that I suggest a Lexia diagnostic - other diagnostic machines will not fully interrogate the various systems on the C5.
