Hi all
As you are all aware the front head lights aren't that great and i was wondering if I uprated the headlight bulbs to 100w instead of the 55w standard bulbs, will it burn out the wiring or blow a fuse? Do they also make a differnce?
Cheers
Taff

Check what voltage you're getting at the bulbs, could be you need to do the relay mod.

Re Xac's advice here's an excellent link giving you all the information to judge whether you need brighter bulbs or (more likely) to fit relays.

Re: Xantia HDi front headlights
Mine have always been excellent, except when I replaced the dipped beam bulbs with a particularly crap brand, (which sounds like a telephone does when it is trying to attract your attention!) as it was all a garage sold. Replaced them with a pair of decent quality bulbs, Philips or something similar, and they were fine again - apparently the accuracy of forming and placing the filament in the bulb makes a huge difference to beam pattern and efficiency, and the 'generic' crap bulbs are nowhere near as good as they should be. Top tip - an 'E' approval number in the range 1- 4 is very desirable - other countries tend to be 'slightly' less stringent in their approval tests - ie one lamp tested for approval, rather than one from each batch produced.

I did the relay mod, and upgraded to (cheap) 100's.. both helped..

Re: Xantia HDi front headlights
Rather than overload the wiring with 100w bulbs fit relays and maybe some Philips Brilliance bulbs and you'll have all the light you need.
