Xantia - Cream Leather seats

Post by mr.ochre »

Found these in a scrap yard near me. The owner is after £40 for them any takers?

That's a good deal and that's a good scrappy too...

I know it well, being very close to where I was born and brought up. It was my main source of spare parts in my early driving career and I'm delighted they're still going...

Does the deal include the complete set and are they heated? One thing to note is that if they are heated it's a good idea to get the seats and their wiring looms and the heater control rheostats...

I could be interested - does the seller know if the driver's seat heater works? Guess not?
What happened to the door trims? What's the spec of the car - must be an Exclusive but
looks like a manual

If the car is green, what condition are the body panels in as I need a NSR door and bonnet?
If good, it be worth a run tomorrow!

It's a fair old trot for you too Andrew but easy to get to. Just outside Bristol get on the A37 and head south toward Yeovil. You can't miss it...

Says Xantia HDi and is in metallic green.
Don't know if the seats are heated but the details of the scrapper are there. The car looks like it's been there a while too!

Need an excuse to try out my 'new' Xm 2.5 gearchange Jim!

TBH, the cream leather is rubbish compared to black as I have used back to back V6's with both
and the cream just feels cheap and gets grubby really easy whereas black just feels plush. I'd love
the driver's seat to have a wirking heater though as my blood is thinner than water and I'm always
feeling cold!!

Would love a straight rear door and bonnet at a good price! Rear Activa style tailgate for my
v6 would be fantabulous too so would be keen to know what the car is!?

Great stuff, shame there's no spoiler mind!
So is this yard fair with the prices if I fancied
both bumpers, bonnet and NSR door?

The yard is fair, I've never had an issue with them and been going for 15 years on and off. Give him a call if your not sure, that's the 01963 number.
TTFN, off to do some ghostly train driving!

Yes Jim, it lives! I even received my text from the dealer to say the 'repair kit' had arrived! 8-)

It took four times the time needed to reassemble the whole lot getting the damned remains of the ball cup off though.
After trying many different approaches the way that works instantly (grrrrr) is to grip VERY tightly with molegrips and
lever sideways against them with a big screwdriver against the lever arm of the gearbox.

I'm chuffed to bits that the job of repairing with such keenly priced ends (only used 1!) ended up being very straightforward
after I'd learned my way around the 2.5's engine gay which to date has been a big blind spot for me as the car has been so
reliable and not required any active spannering bar spheres, brakes, tyres and oil changing!
