RENAULT VS CITROËN

RENAULT VS CITROËN
90'
The epic battle of two industrial Giants !
Renault and Citroën: these twin flagships of the motor industry have become a part of France’s heritage, as emblematic as the Eiffel Tower. But how much do we really know about their founders, Louis Renault and André Citroën, the two greatest industrialists France has ever produced?
The lives of Louis Renault and André Citroën read like classical tragedies: together, they make up a sombre and intimate human epic of a forgotten era.
Never in the history of France have two men started with so little and achieved so much.

I've never studied Louis Renault but Andre Citroen was an incredible bloke and we have a lot to thank him for.

A gambler by nature, this helped him take some incredible business risks to bring his revolutionary cars to market. Oddly, he wasn't that interested in cars himself and rarely drove! He was an industrialist of incredible vision.

It was only recently that I found out Renault was nationalised due to its capitulation with the Nazis.

And Andre Citroen was of Jewish extraction. Had he lived to see WW2 it might have been rather 'interesting' for the old boy...
