2000 Xantia Hdi Suspension problems!

Post by kmk84 »

My 2000 Xantia 2.0 Hdi is suffering from suspension problems. I am new to this forum and dont know alot about the hydraulic suspension on these cars hence why im asking for some help please?? The 'front' of the car will raise up til full height properly and drop to lowest height properly but will nor adjust to normal ride height level when I select that height? Since then ive discovered that the white plastic twin knuckle type clip as I would describe it has popped of the inner ball. I pushed it back on and its staying on but still no difference? Ive also oiled both front and rear adjuster valves numerous times but nothing? Your help would be much appreciated...

The white plastic knuckle clips onto a little clamp type ball that clamps onto the antirollbar, check that this has not snapped.

More likely that your height corrector mechanism has seized. This causes the white plastic 'dog bone' to push off.

its not the adjuster valves ( height correctors ) that need oiling, its actually the linkage's/turrets that seize up,

the only long term way to free them off is by removing them from the car and lubing and working lubing and working lubing and working lubing and working,
till they are floppy loose/free

There is a thread here on the cleaning and maintenance of the height corrector linkages.
