Our 2.0HDi 110 8v tows a horsebox. While the box and one horse is on its tow limit (1300 from memory), it pulls fine. Obviously you can tell its on the back and for steep hills the gears need working but it copes just fine. Ive found it to be a great tow car, the pair of 2.0HDi 16vs we have will obviously be more powerful for towing but they have DMFs and our 110 doesn't, so the 110 has the towbar

If you think its underpowered, there is most likely something it needs. They are a bit picky about the MAF and onedays suggestion about taking the slack out of the accelerator cable is a good one. If its still feeling underpowered to what you are used to you could try a tuning box or a remap. I prefer remaps but I know what is cheaper! Our 110 on tow duty is standard and running well at 146K.

The one I fitted was exactly the same. No difference to fuel consumption but much more 'poke' which isn't what I'm after. But then I did a 600 mile journey pulling my caravan and I found it unnecessary to change gear as much and fuel figures went up from 28mpg to 34mpg. So my box will stay!
