doseur valve leakage

Post by tomsheppard »

Anybody out there have a clue what the doseur valve leakage should be when new? Mine has still a slight leakback to the reservoir when engine idling, despite being only 500 miles old so I would assume that it is ok but I'm a little puzzled because I would have expected to see no leakage at all. I'd guess it is about 5cc per minute at present.

You may find these absolute figures in the french Revue Technique books.
Have you tried if the pedal is clear of the button on the valve (at rest) ?.

If the leakage is more than 3.25 ccm/min, valve is faulty, at least according to Citroen. When I replaced brake valve, there was almost no leakage. Didn't check since.

Tom - if you want a quick look at the Revue Technique give me a bell - I'll mail my details if you don't have them.
