Xantia autoadaptive engine block question

Post by andmcit »

OK car is an early s2 1.9 TD Exclusive with IIRC an AL-4 box (that's 100% BTW)
which has the sport/snow button. The crank is goosed.

Can anyone say 100% whether I can expect to unplug the rotten bottom end on this engine
and plug another from a manaul gearbox car in it's place after transfering the flywheel over
so the torque plate is mounted for the converter in place of the normal flywheel?

The donor car is of near identical mileage/age so pump etc should match although I haven't
collected the car and gone over if yet. Only difference is the manual gearbox!

The service citroen on one of the 1.9TD listings does show a different part number for
auto and manual but would there be a difference to the crank, bell housing etc as that'd
start getting awfully expensive to manufacture. All and any thoughts welcome??? :-D

I take it from the silence nobody has ever worked on a Xantia TD auto?
Figures I guess as these are quite rare sightings!

Looks like i'll be doing the research here blind...
