Refilling eolys

Post by 456eec »

My 2006 2.2 HDI C5 will need doing some time in the not to distant future.
I found a great video on Youtube that is in French but very comprehensive and seems straight forward. " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm in Australia so it seems getting the fluid itself may be the biggest problem. I'm going to check with the Total distributor as they had the correct oil and also LDS so may be able to get it. I could order the filling kit from the UK.
It seems there are different types of fluid that are colour coded. Does anyone know which one my car uses? I haven't yet checked the filler colour.
What are the different types and their colour codes?
Will Lexia reset the computer once it's done as I am planning to get it eventually?

Any advice would be appreciated by me and other C5 owners I'm sure.

Your C5 will need Elloys 176. I think the name has changed to infinium now. You can get an aftermarket kit called pat fluid, here is an example

You will need Lexia to reset the ECU

just refilled mine with the pats fluid and refill kit. I also watched the French video.

When I did mine I put a little hole in the bottom of the refill bottle to help it drain into the tank . Was quite easy and took approx 20 mins I used a Launch diagnostic to reset the ecu counter.

Thanks for the replys.
According to one of the UK ebay sellers who is a citroen dealer
-Infineum F7995 replaces Eolys 176 and has a green filler
-DPX 42 has a white filler.
-Eolys Power Flex has a blue filler
I assume that that PAT DPX 42/176 replaces the first 2.
Lighty, that same seller you gave in your example has a vehicle suitability section in a different listing where you plug in vehicle details. Mine is a 2006 2.2 Estate.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-5-Litre-Pat ... 3373f66c0e" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
According to it the PAT DPX42/176 is not suitable for my car so maybe it needs the Powerflex. I dont have the car at the moment but when I get a chance I'll find the colour of the filler.
Wayne, how much does the tank hold? I note it comes in 1 litre and 4.5 litre.

I got I think a 4.5lt bottle and put the lot in and still would have got more in.

Good luck with the refill.
