Xantia HDI front fog lights

Post by Taffyrhys »

Hi All

My front fog lights don't work on my 2001 Xantia HDI estate but can anybody tell me the type of bulb i require before I tackle the task of replacing them?

Cheers

It should be the same as your low/high beam globes. Clever, as you can prioritise in an emergency and rob the unneeded positions.

My Haynes gives the fog lamp bulb as H3, 55 watt. A single filament bulb, bit like the H1 in your main/dip headlamp, but (I think) a bit squashed up nose to tail, so as to be more compact

If memory serves Haynes and several websites get it wrong saying H3 bulb and some even say H7

h3 on the mk1 and h1's on the mk2 like yours, i just did mine so definatly h1, if it helps the easiest way to get at them is thake the indicator out and go down through that hole if youve got little hands, is it both foglights not working if it is check the fuse first in the engine compartment fusebox (cant remeber which one off the top of my head but im sure someone will have a haynes near them)

They are H1 type and the fuse is engine bay fuse box. I don't remember the fuse number.
Same fuse controls the headlights washer pump also.
