Sure it's pure Citroen - only Citroen uses 6 wires an identical colour
and puts a tiny differentiating colour on the sleeve's end!

Where EXACTLEY in the rear foot well? Under the seat area, or directly under rear passenger feet??

It could be the harness connection for Rear electric windows in the doors.. Im sure the harness runs through the middle pillar then down under the carpet..

Probably not but some early 306's (Yes I know its not) had their airbag diag socket under the rear seating area...

Wonder if its any form of older (tep?) diag port, seems unlikely though.

It'll be aftermarket. Aerial, stacker, parking sensors, alarm, car phone antenna or similar.

And as well as that, what is causing the wet?

Blocked or faulty sunroof drains?

I had that on my old BX. I heard a waterfall behind me while going round a corner, and it was pouring from under the back seats into the footwell.

I took all the carpets out and let the main dealer sort out the roof

Ay up!

I had a BX with a leaky sunroof. She managed to squirt a jet of cold water down between SWMBO's shoe back and heel! Little beggar!

I tried and better tried to sort that. Two replacement roof liners, including a new/old stock one, failed to sort it and I even used the prongs of a sill lift through the doors to try and put the liner in the right place  ! When the wheels left the deck, I reckoned it must have been in the right place. WRONG!!!! So I then decided to tape up the sunroof in winter, just to ease the earache I always had in my left ear...

it definitely is citroen wire/plug as that is exactly what there wiring is like,

you should be able to deduce what it's for by the colour coding using a schematic
