Re: Problem on hard acceleration

After clearing and going for a drive causing the problem at low speed in a low gear and at higher speed in a higher gear, the only code is the P1288.

mostly seem to be pointing to fuel rail pressure. looks like you need to look at live data on a run to try and find the cause of the fault.
Thanks very much for the help, how do I get to view the live data, and what should I be looking for?

cant remember how you get live data someone will be on to tell you soon nodoubt if no contact jim if you got it from easy diagnostics he will tell you. i would be looking for fuel pressure drops on the high and low pressure systems. if the low pressure pump is to low the high pressure pump will not have enough fuel to get the pressure. if that is how the hpi engine works.

Ah, then the only fuel pressure listed and requested and actual fuel rail pressures, there's no high and low pressures shown. Can just see actual falling well short or requested, which doesn't really shed anymore light on the situation.

It's always around 6-7 bar when it fails.

When idling at 800 rpm it's at 88 bar varying between 86-89 as I sit and watch it

sounds like fuel starvation to the high pressure pump. are the filters clean if so the tank pump may not be supplying enough fuel

Thank you very much for your help. I'll replace the fuel filter and see if that makes any difference prob won't be able to do it until next weekend now, as its dark by the time I finish work. Thanks very much for your help, I'll let you know as soon as the filters been changed.
