1.9td tensioner spacer missing

Post by davidc »

Hello
Recently changed the aux belt tensioner for my 1.9td 97 Xant. All went well thanks to info on this site though I found that I had to remove the HP and ECU to be able the see the damned thing and actually get access. However when dismantling the tensioner assembly I couldn’t see any spacer at the top of the spring shock absorber as shown as number 30 in the diagram. Diesel xants are very rare here in AU, the factory only brought in 200 so collective memory of the job here is very limited. Can anyone describe what it looks like, location, dimensions or even a pic?

I beleive 30 goes into the back of the cradle so nothing to do with the tensioner.
See its line in the pic points to the back of the cradle? 31 goes through the cradle and 30 then the engine block.

Indeed, 30 is just a dowel to locate the cradle on the engine block... So - no worries :)
