Re: c5 cruise control

Does this not need tinkering on the computer. I have looked at this and wanted it for long trips but always been put off due to the believed need for Lexia tinkering and the switchs. If this is not the case or is easy then it would be great if you could advise.

Mine is a 03 Hdi 110bhp Lx. I also asssumed the stalk part was based on year. Is Mrk II the c5 with the Citroen logo grill?

hi Boris, yes you will need lexia, and the correct switch I believe.. for my S1 car the switch needs to have an OFF/ON function as said earlier in the post..
otherwise think it should be easy to do.. taking note of the brake switches/clutch switch I think..

Yes boristhespie, you will need a Lexia to enable the options in the cars ECU. However there might well be a FCF member close to you who will be willing to do it for you.

Then just get the correct stalk, as jgra1 says, it needs to have the on/off rather than limiter/cruise. It can be fitted in a matter of minutes.

Hopefully yours will have the brake switches, however if not it can be fitted easily.

Yes, the C5II is the facelifted original C5, from late 2004 to 2008.

I have a chinese Lexia but am not too confident tinkering. W walk through would be great.

Mine c5 is an 03 so I guess NOT mrkII, (Not facelift). I had a look on ebay and one of the off on stalks were on there but then they said it was NOT compatible with my car. SO how do you, ensure this?

How do you determine if you have the required switches? This is another reason I never did this.

On an 03 it is certainly a C5I, series one. It might well have the second brake switch being slightly later C5I. I would get a stalk, program it with the Lexia and if it doesnt work you know you need the switch. Its easy and cheap so its the way I would do it.

Im sure someone localish to you would help you with the lexia part if your not confident with it. Check out the Lexia location thread on here.
