Hang on a sec, when I can't accelerate, the car still drives, it's just that the revs and speed will not increase. If the brake switch was cutting off the fuel supply, surely the engine would die?

This is true.
Check for the brake lights coming on fairly randomly and intermittently but it probably isn't that.

Sounding more like a boost problem.

Any chance you could contact one of our Lexia owners and have a diagnostic session. A live data test may pick up on what is happening and why.

The switch is under the glovebox, fitted to the brake crossover bar.

Looking at the list, adamtemp64 is not too far away from me, I will pm him.

Update on the above.

The short pipe/hose is the fuel pump drain hose - thanks for that.

On the advice of a friend, a triple dose of Millers fuel additive was added to the tank. That was 10 days ago. Not had the problem for a week now.

Adamtemp64 - fellow member has a Lexia, went through a series of tests/diagnostics today - all passed no faults. Thank you Adam.

So whatever it was appears to have gone away - has the Millers done the trick ?

Thanks for all the advice.

Graham
