I believe others that have done it have said that a Lexia wasn't required to initialise them.
Electric seat fuses are on page 131 of the handbook.

I am in the process of doing this myself and if I understand correctly it requires an 80 amp maxi fuse underneath the main fuseboard. I haven't looked under mine yet but I have some fuses on order, very cheap on ebay.

As far as I know its not been a problem others have found when fitting electric leather to a C5. However I have noticed that there is an option in the Lexia menus for electric seats. I guess you will soon find out, just have a few cushions ready incase its not at your desired driving position

You apparantly can't see this 80a fuseholder until you remove the engine bay fuse board, its underneath at the front I am told.

I tried Peter ... but it was getting dark, and I started to see PCB's that I really shouldn't have and panicked..

I put all back together and the car wouldn't start :)
shut and locked and unlocked car and all ok again .. phew..
Will try and work out how to get under the engine bay fuses tomorrow evening..
old front seats back in, new beige carpet fitted and a bit of walnut stuff here and there :)

problem 2

Post by jgra1 »

well, I quite easily pulled the fusebox up and stuffed the only maxi I had in to socket 61, a 50A
all working ;) seats in.. doors cards x 2 done..

but

car has gone into economy mode!
read the manual, said start car.. which I can't as it seems that the immob (aftermarket alarm) has gone to sleep.. when I lock the doors the lights don't flash..

ideas? I guess a careful battery disconnect? (will read Steve's post)

Did you go through the battery disconnect/reconnect routine.

If you take any shortcuts it can screw up the immobiliser.
Patience is the answer.

well I turned all off.. waited.. then took terminals off and ran a bulb between them, then bridged them

then waited..
Maybe I didnt wait long enough after I reconnected.. and of course I cant open drivers window as all windows seem to be off due to eco mode?

I have disconnected again now, and am charging battery (it was 12.5 however)

car is unlocked, windows shut..

looks like a train to work tomorrow for the first time ever :( ...

C5s do very strange things when the battery is getting low.

We found for a while that if weh had the doors open for a long time on our C5 estate it would then fail to start. It would go into economy mode but that doesn't seem to do much! The starter would spin the engine round quickly but it wouldnt start the engine. As it has an alarm we also found the alarm would go off some times, in fact I think there is a back up batter for the alarm, as once the batter was totally flat but the alarm was going off.

Charging the batter got the car started, often on its first start the power steering would not be functional. After a restart it was back to normal. A new batter cured this non starting problem and it has never returned.

Do you not have a batter charger?
