Power saving mode on C5 question?

Power saving mode on C5 question?

If something was plugged into the rear 12v socket which I believe is permanent live would the car switch of the power to the socket if the battery was getting drained?
Volvo S80 D5.........
C5 2.2HDi Exclusive 2003 manual (now gone).
2009 Renault Megane, the misses drive.
Had a 1988 BX 19TRS Auto many moons ago.

I doubt it, it certainly doesn't if you use the one on the console on the C5 hatchback as I found out when I left my TomTom plugged in for a couple of days and had to jump start it.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.
