Personally Chris, I think it is - and less risk of damage too... Just my personal...Chris570 wrote: it was just a load easier to lift the lot out as a unit.

Re: no light on dashboard
hi jim
it is possable to drop the gearbox , the car has to be on ramps.
you need to tilt the engine a bit , so you slide the box back
i used an engine host to lower the box to the floor.
as for my car , i have found out that there no supply to fuse No12
i taken out the fuse box and checked the pcb in side with a meter
to see if any of the tracks where broken , all ok
have found it is a little grey wire , that should suppy fuse no 12
in the drawings it shows it to be a comon supply for no 12and no 2
i asume there must be a splice somewhere in the harness but have no idea where
so i will cut it and solder a new wire and connect it to ingnition switch.

Re: no light on dashboard
hi jim
we ll i have the dashboard lights on now , but it still will not start ,
i suspect there is a brake in the lom behind the dash, i think the starting
relay is getting no power, in the haynes book they call relay 1005, do you
know where this located in the car ?
