Trying to stop water leaks in the ZX so have ordered some windscreen sealant from Ebay.
While cleaning the seal I noticed gaps both sides at the top corner of the screen near the roof rack channels - see picture.
Is this normal maybe to drain water away or should i fill it with sealant?
Thanks.

cant remember for sure but dosent the ZX have bonded screens if so the rubber is just a fillet and does not seal the water out

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
as i said its a bonded screen so that seal aint for sealing just a fillet
are you sure the tin worm hasnt been at it in the scuttle

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
Thanks, didn't realise it was a bonded screen.
Presumably a bonded screen can still leak and need re-bonding?
I'll have to get the hose pipe out again.

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
Yes, they can. I've had it twice now on Xantias. I looked at one as the windscreen fitter did the job and we were both amazed at how poorly bonded it was. It may have been the original screen and Citroen being mean with the glue...caspar wrote: Presumably a bonded screen can still leak and need re-bonding?
It's incredibly difficult to seal without replacing the screen. It'll be almost impossible to get the old screen out in one piece so the only real option is to have a new one fitted by a good, competent fitter...

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
before you conclude the screen sealant is leaking try pouring water in through the scuttle vents, just to prove or dis/prove the tin worm hasnt been busy ,
it is a ZX after all
if it turns out to be the screen try and find a local one man band screen fitter (Paul of Pbw Windscreens and car transporting Hailsham 07976328765? ) , as he might have a damn good go at removing the screen in one piece,

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
Thanks.
Do Autoglass and the like stock ZX screens still?
I'll have a look at the scuttle area later.
Thanks

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
It had crossed my mind!
Spent some time with the hose pipe earlier.
Started on the scuttle area after removing the plastic cover. It has had a small area welded up under the cover but doesn't seem to be the source of the leak.
I moved on to the lower windscreen seal and then the upper seal but still nothing.
I finally played it over the sunroof and some water did appear on the driver's floor but i'm not sure if it was from the sunroof or
water from earlier on just arriving at the footwell!
I have a tilt and slide sunroof but can't see any drain holes in it, do all sunroofs have drain holes?
Mine appears sealed when closed and I don't get any drips from it.

Re: ZX Windscreen seal - is this normal?
the tilt and slide sunroof has 4 crain tubes one at each corner,
you need to locate the bottom ends of all 4 drain tubes
not 100% sure were the front ones terminate on a ZX, on a BX they are in behind the trim at the bottom of the A posts in the front foot wells, the rears will be in behind the rear lights,
you need to blow them through with compressed air, but cover the seats first,
then with the car on level ground pour water into the chanle with roof open, and watch each corner to check water runs out,
the head lining on cars with these sun roofs is the chassis and there is a gully all the way around the top o f the head lining,
the seal around the glass is just a draft felt and is not intended to stop water entering the roof area
