EGR valve blanking.

Hi all, I've purchased a blanking plate but could anyone, especially someone who has done it themselves, be able to tell me is it just a straight forward fit of will it flag up an error. I'm getting various different answers so before I go ahead it would be good to know what I'm up against. Also how easy is the valve to get to. I know it's under the air filter so i'm guessing that space/access will be limited. Thanks in advance Alec.
