Couple of Xantia questions.

Post by Stepto1 »

Right, finally got my 110 HDI sorted with an MOT and a fully working hydraulic system.

Now I want to get it looking smart again.

I have a set of Exclusive alloys to go on so that's the wheels sorted.

The side trim is looking shoddy though. The front and rear bumper trim are good but the chrome effect door trims look awful. Do they come off so I can respray them? Can I get new ones?

The other problem are the front seats. Both have fag burns in them although the ashtrays and lighter have never been used. Can I get these retrimmed? It's the grey fabric with the dark grey rhombus pattern.

Now I've sorted the engine I'm getting 47mpg at 73mph (gps speed, 80mpg on the clock). I'm very happy with this and the car is showing its true colours now a few jobs have been done.

I got a set of stainless side trim inserts for my Xantia. Can't remember who from off the top of my head but I'll find the email and find out.

Treat her to a set of leather seats....

They're a straight swap and all the wiring should be in place ready...

Oh I love a bit of stainless.

I've got a set of black leather seats but I'm missing a headrest and I quite like keeping things original.

Brian Primmer is the man for the S/S Trim inserts. I can get his contact details for you if you want...

He does them for Xantia and XMs...

Most towns have coach trimmers who should be able to do the job. Not sure how available the fabric is though. You may need to find a donor seat or two to supply it. - perhaps a rear seat...
