This wasn't a bodge job. This was the real deal. Major work to make it 4x4.

I wouldn't give £5 for it as it'd mean the hassle of covering it up to avoid embarrassment from having it parked near my house before the scrap man took it away to be crushed. Total pimped up rubbish.

Richard, I really wish you'd just come out and say what you think...

Your last post leaves me in some doubt as to your true feelings about the Buffalo. I believe you may not be that keen but I'm really not too sure... You really should try to me more forthright in your views and opinions....

Yep typical Richard, always sitting on the fence

Personaly i would get it painted one colour and it would look great but my biggest gripe would be its choice of engine, if i had a one off prototype i would want a V6 or V6 turbo, what on earth is a 2.1 diesel doing hanging off of a 4WD drive train, pointless.

What I can't work out is how/why the green V6 for sale in France in a thread a couple of days ago is lambasted for being a pimp mobile yet this abomination is seen as acceptable by some people on here yet they both have hideous modifications that make them look like they've been put together by a 17 year old wearing a baseball cap on back to front who has a serious lack of taste. So what if the buffalo has 4x4, how long will that work for and who needs that anyway? My instant reaction when I first saw the photo's of the buffalo many years ago was it's hideous, nothing has changed my mind since.

I wonder why only one of them was ever built? :?

I can't work out why it is but I've never been called "Splinterbum"

The Bx4tc was indeed made for rallying and was actually better than is believed in performance terms,
on the actual stages it competed on it was up there witht he big guns, but itr only got 11 rallies on the scene before group b became Banned, it was along the lines of the T16, Very good but due to it being somewhat Aesthetically challenged should we say, it didnt get such the following, still, reached 32k euros in the auction!! is a thread witht he prices of some of the finishing bids in the french car chat page under xm limo,

may be the Buffalo was designed for the horsey set, tow a box on the back, and as most hosrey peeps arnt worried by looks seeing as after a while they all start to look like their horses they'd spice it up a bit with some 2tone stylee!!!

It occurs to me that this Buffalo would probably be a bit of a dog, handling wise. With 4wd, some sort of wishbone rear suspension, and different weight distribution, it is unlikely to handle well on standard Xantia geometry, anti-roll and spheres, but with only 2km on the clock, it can't have been very much sorted. Best kept as a museum piece I think.

It's devine retribution from the Citroen gods for letting my Xantia go......

Just wanted to add that the 4x4 is a vile abomination IMHO
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right
