Parking Assistance Fault 2005 C5

Have just purchased this vehicle and am noticing the Parking Assistance Fault message on the screen and the Parking sensors do not work, does anyone know what the fault usually is?

The usual cause of this system not working on the mk2 C5 is a dodgy sensor caused by water getting into it, unplug them all & have a look in the connector for telltale signs of water traces.
