Xantia engine tray ?

Post by froggy »

Hi, I managed to catch the tray( I don"t know offical name, sorry) on my drive, at work, almost ripping it off! I have just taken a look at it. some of the bolt holes have been badly torn . my question is; will it be possible to refit and make it safe again? I guess the tray has an important role? thanks in advance Terry .

Someone on here used bean tins to rebuild the edge.
Can't remember who though.
Most of us just ditch it.

Did mine with some 2mm aluminium shaped and pop riveted to replace the larger bits that were missing. For the smaller ones I used large diameter repair washers again pop riveted on with 3 rivets. Lasted 6 years + so far.

Just use thick cable ties, this is my method and it will never fall off until you need it to !! You may have to drill some new holes in the tray near a convenient location to fasten to.

You can work wonders on a broken undertray with a pop riviter and some ali sheeting. On the only time I drove my previous Xantia for a few months without its undertray I did lots of damage to the wheel liners because they were able to thrash about in the wind.
