LHM leaking from pump

Post by ydidibyadamcitroen »

Had a brand new pump fitted cos the old one was leaking.
Well today 4 days after new pump is fitted i noticed LHM coming from metal pipe that screws into what looks like a big nut on top of pump!
I tightened the pipe up and ......well the leak tiurned into a very fast drip i tried tightening and it just got worse..
I phoned the local dealer who said i need a seal, I drove in my wifes car to the dealers and was then told there are 3 different sizes, and they come in packs of two... I had to take a pack of each size to ensure i had the correct one. After the shock at the price of these things i got back to my car and put the seal in>>>
IT is still bloody leaking.
Is there a correct way to insert this seal.
I put the seal in the pump and then inserted pipe and tightened . but it seems to work loose after an hours driving and the pipe needs tightening again..
Help please[:)][V][:(!][?]

If somebody else fitted the pump, then it is their problem. Overtightening the metal pipe will do it no end of no good...

Try this thread - looks like the same problem :

- especially the link where you find a schematic picture on the pump.
