C5 estate - Fitting a Towbar

Post by Beechy »

Hi All,
I'm about to start fitting a towbar to my 2002 C5 estate 2.0 HDI. The instructions say to remove the rear plastic underpanel.
I can't see how to get it off - any pointers please. and as the actress said to the bishop 'it's not as big as I thought it would be' maybe there's something missing.

The rest of the fitting, I'm quite confident with.

Cheers

The under panel is about 130mm wide and covers the whole of the rear and the nearside up to the wheel arch so is 'L' shaped. The rear edge fits into the rear bumper and the leading edge is held by five turn buttons - four along the back and one on the nearside. Release the buttons with a quarter turn and pull down. After fitting the towbar, I didn't bother refitting my panel..

Relay kit all ready to go.12V fused feed from the battery already set up. Just need to hold my breath and hope I don't screw things up this far into the job.
It looks eay enough once I've located the correct wires in the loom
