Gromett or cap

Hi, On the inside rear wheel arch ( nearside) of my 1997 Xantia there is a very small acess point ( why!!!) it should I guess, heve a plastic cover or gromet. anybody know what it is or indeed what its called ? Iam a bit worried about water getting in! thanks in advance Terry . p.s. Phoned my local dealership, they have no idea, what a surprise ! #-o
