C5 bumper replacement (Mk3 2009)

Post by whatdoesthisbuttondo »

I've managed to scrape the NSFront side bumper just in front of the wheel arch whilst turning a corner, and its lost a bit of its 'Gallic flair'.
Does anyone know if the 'chrome' inserts on the bumper can be replaced or is it one big bumper piece? The plastic drirectly below the trim is scratched as well, can it be filled and painted?
Thanks!

There is a flexibilised filler for plastic bumpers; I think the makers of Isopon offer one version.

Almost certainly the brightwork is offered separately; Malcolm will probably quote you part numbers and price.

Halfords have it. It's called Bumperfill which I used to good effect on gouges on my C5's bumper. But then you need body matching paint and clear.

The trim is available separately:

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT
00007452SK BMPR RUBBR BOOT 35.53 GBP 42.64 GBP 42.64 GBP

00007452SL BMPR RUBBR BOOT 34.86 GBP 41.83 GBP 41.83 GBP

7452SL is the RH one. Only Citroen would price them differently  Bolted on from behind by the looks of it. No doubt a mobile repairer will be able to fix the bumper at a fraction of the price of a new one. If you are in the Norwich area then drop Gareth (Xantiaman) a PM, as he runs just such an outfit....

Thanks very much Gents!
I live in Leeds, Norfolks a bit too far for me!!.....
I dont fancy my cack handed results so I think Ill get a quote to fill it and paint it. As for the chrome bumper edge, Ive seen them on different sites, all around the £38 mark.
