Q what has a BX in common with an AC cobra (apart that is from the 170
+ top speed) ?
A both can be dented by careless polishing.
I have been told that the people who can do paintless dent removal won't do the BX 'cos the metal is too thin. Old Wives' Tale or fact..
Mine has a few dents, but being an estate, the worst are in the rear wings and look as though they are stone damage from inside. Has anybody any experience with one of these companies or am I forced to knock the lot in and use filler before respraying the car?
well kicked dustbin syndrome

Hi Tom,
I discovered that the metal is sufficiently thin as to lend itself to some pretty dramatic 'panelbeating' using nothing more than soft tools.
I had a couple of centre panel dents, one of them across a swage, in my BX which I removed using a sock full of sand as a dolly, a small wooden mallet and a piece of 4"x2" as a spoon.
If the metal's stretched then you'll have to hot shrink it of course, but otherwise it's easy to repair without damaging the paint.
