Dreaded front suspension rattle, HDI 110

I had a knocking noise that sounded like a vertical mounted board banging when going over bumps, actually was N/S drop link.

I have changed the N/S but should I change the off side as well?

Also, would a faulty drop link cause a C5 to pull left slightly. I notice this is still a problem after changing the N/s drop link but when crusing on the motorway the car does not seem to pull to the left at all?

Well!! Although everything pointed to the o/s, I decided to change the n/s drop link - and yes, it stopped the rattle. I suppose over 27K isn't too bad, but I would have thought that they should last 4 times that! I did find that putting a long ring spanner on the affected lower nut did show up play and when removed the joint was very loose, but then It really did rattle.. Converesly, when the originals failed at 90K, they were very stiff. I seem to be learning at an ever increasing rate.

one noise ive had like this apart from drop links ball joints is i once forgot to put the spring back in the brake caliper and as ive had droplinks go before and know the symptoms i had exact same noises lol
