C5 multifunction disply

I have 2002 c5 v6 exclusive in which I have a strange problem with the display. The display goes blank for varying periods of time and when it is blank what ever of the cd players or radio which was on before hand works but the other two do not. The controls on the stalk do not work either. When it comes back on full functionality returns in all respects. The off periods have been getting longer. but recently it has come on for short periods. Has anyone any ideas?

I'm not sure if it will work but worth a try, If the unit has a "DARK" button, pressing and holding it for 10 seconds proforms a reset of the unit on later units, I don't know about yours............
